A classical choir, a contemporary gospel-style choir and fifteen instrumentalists join forces around the confession of faith that unites Christians of all traditions, with music that juxtaposes classical, jazz and contemporary modes.
Credo exists in both English and French.
'The work is worthy of the magnificent confession of faith : beautifully crafted, it succeeds in reconciling musical genres and in challenging individuals in their musical and spiritual experience'.
'Balm for the soul ... Credo blends past and present into a seamless whole ... a smorgasboard for the senses'.
'This has got to be one of the most creative and striking recordings of recent years. A totally unique work of art.'
Vocal and instrumental scores are available, as is an instrumental soundtrack for rehearsal or for choirs without access to musicians.
To sing Credo, a versatile choir can divide, to take on both the classical and the contemporary aspects of the work : alternatively two choirs can collaborate. We can also provide four soloists to interpret the contemporary choir alongside a classical choir aiming to perform this work.
Credo has been performed in different configurations at the Basilique Fourvière in Lyon, Cathédrale St Maurice, Vienne, the cathedrals of Orléans, Aix, and Evry, Temple St Etienne de Mulhouse, Temple Neuf, Strasbourg, Eglise St Matthieu de Colmar, l'Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand, le Scarabée, Chambéry, Hôtel de Ville, Wavre, Belgium.... and in its English version at the Cambridge University Faculty of Music concert hall and at Guildford Cathedral, as well as many other venues.
Credo is also available as a show with 8 singers performing to a track. To find out more
